Waistline Fruity Salads

With the patio at our fingertips it is hard to resist eating outdoors.  With eating outdoors come snacky food items that often are not good for our waistline.  Do any of you remember growing up with marshmallow-jello like salads?  The kind of sugar salads that set your day up for a roller coaster of sugar cravings and an extra inch of waistline ‘growth’.

I have put together two fruity salads that are sure to hit anyone’s palate. Clean, fresh and full of nutrition goodness it is hard to say no to in just trying.


Spring Fruit Salad

2 diced kiwifruit-salad1

2 diced peaches

1 chopped banana

1 cup diced strawberries

1/2 cup berries

3 tbsp liquid honey

3 chopped mint leaves

Place all fruit in a bowl and drizzle honey over top. Mix well. Garnish with chopped mint and lightly mix.


Almond Peach Salad

1 cup diced pineapple

2 cups torn spinachsummer-peaches

1 cup diced strawberries

1/2 cup almonds (broken or whole)


1 banana

1/2 cup pineapple juice

1/4 cup vanilla yoghurt

1 tbsp liquid honey

1 chopped peach

Drops Almond Extract

Put all fruit in a bowl except the ones in the dressing. In a blender mix all dressing ingredients and pour over salad mixture. Toss well and serve.  

Hint:  tastes great with home-made baked cinnamon tortilla chips.
